Welcome to the website of the IARF Young Adult Conference 2007.
The Young Adult Conference is organized for young people from all over the world. It's a conference in which the human rights of religious freedom and peace are the central theme. IARF has been working on religious freedom as a human right around the world. In several countries IARF has played a key role in teaching different religious and etnical groups to live peacefully together. The young adults visiting this conference will get the opportunity to learn about the Dutch tradition of respect and tolerance. They will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of this tradition and will start reflection on the situation in their own country. They will get familiar with the Human Rights Education program that IARF has developed and get an introduction in educating it in their own situation. There will be opportunity to meet people who are experts on human rights education and on liberal forms of religion. Of course meeting each other and getting to know each other's tradition is a central part of the program.
Young people from every religious background in which respect towards other religions is a key point are very welcome. We hope and believe that building relationships might be a way to contribute to a future of hope. The conference tries to support this goal, by bringing people together.
We hope that young adults from different religions and many countries, including the Netherlands, will be interested in coming. We organise this conference together with four liberal churches, who have their national liberal peaceday on April 21. All the information about this day is on www.beraadsdag.nl
